FAQ 🤔
In addition to the video rules and the booklet, find the most frequently asked questions!
-
Does the starting city count as a building?
Yes, the starting city card is a building like any other. It can be destroyed by sabotage or a disaster. It counts toward your total number of buildings.
-
How is wood used? Why does it have a lightning bolt?
Wood is a special resource that can be used in 2 ways: 1. Inside a building, where it provides the indicated amount of energy. 2. All by itself (due to the lightning bolt), where it provides 1 energy. In both cases, once exploited, it is placed back at the bottom of the Forest deck.
-
Can a building be used multiple times in the same turn?
No, each building can only be used once per turn. However, you may use as many different buildings as you want and as many resources as possible during your turn.
-
Is there a limit to resources in hand?
No, there is no limit to the resources you can hold in your hand. ⚠ Note: You are still limited to using each building only once per turn.
-
I have built my 6th building; is the game over?
Not immediately. The other players have the right to one final action before the game ends. ⚠ If, during this last round, one of your buildings is destroyed (due to sabotage or a disaster), the game continues.
-
How does the Hurricane work?
When the Hurricane card appears in the weather, reveal it immediately. Count the total CO2 emitted and apply the corresponding effect. Then, place the Hurricane card at the bottom of the Weather deck. If another disaster appears during the Hurricane, apply it as well—the climate is spiraling out of control!
-
How do you count the total CO2?
The total CO2 corresponds to the cumulative number of CO2 clouds in all cities. Each CO2 cloud counts as 1. ⚠ The -2 symbol refers to the Victory Point penalty and must not be used for this calculation.
-
What does "No ties accepted" mean?
To validate a mission, you must be the only one to fulfill it. In case of a tie (e.g., if several players have the most windmills), the mission is not fulfilled!
-
What is a "living tree"?
A living tree is a tree drawn in the artwork of the building cards. Example: The Water Mill counts as 4 living trees. However, the Biomass Plant counts as 0 living trees because they are all cut down in the image.

What are "buried resources"?
Buried resources are Hydrocarbon (Fossil Fuel) and Uranium cards that have been exploited. Each of these cards exploited in your city counts as one buried resource.
-
What is a "cloud in the sky"?

When is a Sabotage used?
Sabotage cards are used immediately upon purchase. As soon as a sabotage is used, you decide which card is destroyed. You can destroy any face-up card: a building in a neighbor's city, in your own city, or even a card from the market. Both the destroyed card and the Sabotage card are placed at the bottom of the Weather deck after use.
