The Summer Play & Wood Fest is an annual festival of imagination organised by the Au Poirier Savant association in Beaumont-Louestault, in the Indre-et-Loire region of France. Since its creation, the festival has invited visitors of all ages to explore play in all its forms: board games, giant wooden games, role-playing games, fantasy worlds, creative workshops and narrative experiences. More than just a gaming event, it is designed as a space for encounters, transmission and creativity, open to families, curious visitors and enthusiasts alike. The festival is built around a simple belief: imagination is a living heritage. It is not preserved behind glass, but through the stories we tell, the games we share and the worlds we invent together. It is passed on by people, rooted in places, and essential at every age. Each edition unfolds in two parts. During the day, from 10 a.m., the festival is open to everyone: free-access games, playful spaces for children and adults, family-friendly activities, immersive worlds to explore, food and refreshments on site. A welcoming and accessible adventure, designed for discovery, play and shared moments. As night falls, the atmosphere changes. The festival becomes more narrative, more mysterious and more immersive, with an evening programme reserved for ages 16 and over: role-playing games, collaborative experiences, collective storytelling and more intense playful proposals. Held during the European Heritage Days, the Summer Play & Wood Fest defends the idea that heritage is not limited to stones and monuments. Old places, shared stories and inherited imaginaries also have something to say to those who take the time to listen.

*Summer Play & Wood Fest #5 - 19 September 2026* *Theme: The Archipelago of the Stone Isles - The Great Awakening of Novaterra* This fifth edition of the Summer Play & Wood Fest continues the narrative universe introduced in 2025 and opens a new chapter in Novaterra, the floating island of imagination. The previous year, visitors tried to stabilise the Galactic Convergence. But Novaterra fragmented, and its shards took root in the old stones of the GĂątine-Racan region. In 2026, these fragments are waiting to be awakened. Each visitor becomes a *Wayfarer*. *The daytime programme, from 10 a.m., open to all* On arrival, Wayfarers receive an *Archipelago Logbook* and can set out to explore several Stone Isles scattered throughout the heritage sites of Beaumont-Louestault. Each isle is linked to a Guardian, its own atmosphere and a small experience to discover on site. At the festivalâs main site, the *Playful Constellation* welcomes visitors throughout the day: giant wooden games, board games, narrative spaces, family activities and free-access play moments. As the day unfolds, visitorsâ contributions help shape the state of the Archipelago. A collective tracking system will allow the story to evolve and influence the atmosphere of the evening. Food and refreshments available on site. *The evening programme, the Archipelago Vigil, 16+* As night falls, imagination changes shape. The atmosphere becomes denser, more mysterious and more immersive. The Archipelago Vigil continues what has been built during the day: collective stories, narrative games, role-playing games, collaborative experiences and more intense playful proposals. The Guardians, fragments and stories gathered throughout the day find a new resonance.
